Ocean Acidification Bill passes US House

The ocean acidification research bill passed the U.S. House yesterday. H.R. 4174, a top priority for oceans advocates, would create a new program to research and monitor the effects of ocean acidification on the marine environment. The House approved it by voice vote.

UW Oceanography Senior Research Cruise 2008

 Rick Keil, ocean scientist at the UW and COSEE-OLC co-PI, is currently working with undergraduate students on their senior thesis projects. This winter quarter the students guided by four instructors spent time examining relevant literature, selecting research problems, formulating hypotheses, and identifying approaches to test these hypotheses.
