The Prophecy of Condor and Eagle

The Prophecy of Condor and EagleWhen we first started our travel company Eagle-Condor Peru Adventures, we were surprised to find a lot of bird watchers viewing our site.  Our company name was inspired from the Prophecy of the Condor and the Eagle, a prophecy from the Americas.  It is the foretelling of a reunion between the people of the Condor (South America), and the people of the Eagle (North America).  The Eagle symbolizes North America, the intellect and technology.  The Condor symbolizes South America, the heart and indigenous knowledge (medicine).    It talks about a tribe of people separating, into two groups, each following a separate path of enlightenment.  And that one day they would reunite to teach one another, remember their common origins, and bring wholeness to themselves and the world; like the concept of Yin and Yang.  It’s the message that we can all benefit from each other’s diversity, to bring us into balance and harmony.

In Peru we have found the Native Indians of Peru (Q’eros) to be some of the most loving and kindhearted individuals we have ever met.  And when we talk to the Curanderos, Pacos, Shamans of Peru, they talk about the Inca principle of Munay, of Unconditional Love.  These Natives constantly show their kindness, gratitude and respect, to each other, their land, and everything around them.  This is their culture and lifestyle.   To us Munay is a defining principle of these indigenous people of Peru, which is why we bring guests to meet them, and learn from them.  During our trips to Machu Picchu, all of our guests always experience the unique and beautiful hearts of these people.  And at the same time our guests experience a re-awakening of their own hearts.  Whether the prophecy is true or not, is for you to decide.  But for us, these are the people of the Condor.
